Curatorial Proposals for Spring 2009:  Artists and curators are welcome to submit proposals for exhibitions.

         The proposal must have a concept, other than artists' exhibiting, which is current and relevant. There must be three or more artists chosen for the exhibition, 2-4 digital images for each artist. The artworks represented in the proposal should be the same artworks for the exhibition. The participating artists must primarily residence in the Philadelphia Area, half of the artists may reside outside PA or USA . Media types we will accept; drawing, installation, painting, mixed performance/installation, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Sizes and media restrictions are limited to fire/safety codes. The submission will need to include a curatorial statement, a press release, and the names and contact information of all the participating individuals. All the information; images of the artworks( titled to match description sheet), description sheet for images(title, dimensions, media, dates, price for each work), statement, press release and contacts must be on a CD or flash drive, in Word for data and .gif or .jpeg formats for images.

            Proposals will be reviewed and the decision will be made by July 25th, 2008. If selected the exhibition will run the following year in Spring. Stratasphere will promote the exhibition and provide the refreshments for the opening reception. The exhibition will run for 6 weeks, the space will be open on the weekends from 1-5pm. The selected project participants will have to gallery sit half of the exhibitions running time.  There are no stipends or additional funds that will be provided. The gallery will take a 10% commission if works are sold, please remember there is 7% sales tax  in Pennsylvania. The gallery is not responsible for damages or loss of art work during the exhibition run, insurance is the artists' concern. Any submission must have funding for installation costs and performance expenses.

            We are providing the promotion, the space, the reception and the hours for viewing.
